Jason Jeynes — Stillness in Light and Form

Australian artist Jason Jeynes brings architectural balance and painterly depth to the timeless tradition of still life. Based in Hong Kong for over two decades, he translates everyday objects into meditations on light, form, and quiet grace.

A self-taught painter inspired by the Old Masters, Jeynes merges classical discipline with a contemporary eye. Each composition reflects his background in architecture—structured yet intimate, refined yet quietly emotional. Through traditional oil techniques, he reveals beauty in the overlooked, inviting viewers to contemplate stillness as a source of meaning.

His work celebrates the poetry of observation: the subtle glow on a piece of fruit, the measured play of shadow and space, the dignity within the ordinary. At the 2026 Hong Kong Affordable Art Fair, Jeynes presents a body of work with TAVERNART that reminds us how simplicity, when seen with attention, becomes artful and profound.
