Sir Henry /
LAU Hoo Cheong

Sir Henry Lau Hoo Cheong, painter, educator, and visual storyteller, distills decades of observation into works of quiet eloquence and lyrical restraint. Trained in Architectural Studies and holding a Master of Arts in Architecture from The University of Hong Kong, Lau bridges structure with sensitivity—his art guided by geometry, intuition, and the interplay of light and form.

Founder of Simply Art Studio and former judge for numerous international art programs, including exhibitions across Portugal, Finland, and Russia, Lau has received global recognition such as the Best Collection Award at the National Museum in Évora. His compositions—whether plein-air landscapes or introspective abstractions—capture the subtle dialogue between place and emotion.

Often described as “painting presence itself,” Sir Henry’s practice embodies a harmony of technique and spirit. Each brushstroke reflects decades of devotion to both creation and education, revealing an artist who not only records what he sees but enlightens how we see.
